Nasca Lines, Peru (1)

Posted by Michael (Wuppertal, Germany) on 26 November 2007 in Landscape & Rural.

In the next few days I´m going to present you some shots of the famous nasca lines from the altiplano in Peru. I have been there for three times in the past 10 years. I had also the great opportunity to meet Mrs. Maria Reiche, a german mathematician who studied the mystery on the desert. If you want to learn more about her life and work, you may have a closer look here:

You can also learn more about the "mystery on the desert" there!

The first shot in this series shows the panamericana and the observation tower which was erected by Maria Reiche. Down left you can spot "the tree" and down right you will find "the hands".

Due to my work I am not able to answer your posts at once- but be sure, every of your highly appreciated comments is read! I will always have a look to your pictures at aminus 3- even there might no be a post underneath!
