In the next few days I´m going to present you some shots of the famous nasca lines from the altiplano in Peru. I have been there for three times in the past 10 years. I had also the great opportunity to meet Mrs. Maria Reiche, a german mathematician who studied the mystery on the desert. The first shot in this series shows the panamericana and the observation tower which was erected by Maria Reiche. Down left you can spot "the tree" and down right you will find "the hands".
Due to my work I am not able to answer your posts at once- but be sure, every of your highly appreciated comments is read! I will always have a look to your pictures at aminus 3- even there might no be a post underneath!

It must be great to get the chance to visit these mysterious markings so many times. Thanks for sharing these, I'm fascinated by the mystery of the people who made these.

@Markus: Dank, Markus! Ja, das stimmt! Dreimal war ich dort- und jedesmal konnte man die fortschreitende Zerstörung sehen. Maria Reiche´s Anliegen war, die Pampa dort zu schützen und sie selbst bezahlte auch Wächter, die darauf aufpassen sollten. Ein schier hoffnungsloses unterfangen. Links und rechts der Pampa sind Warnschildern, die eine Betreten mit Strafe bewehren (10.0000 US $). Wenn du mehr über Maria Reiche wissen möchtest: Es gibt eine sehr Interessante Biografie: "Bilderbuch der Wüste. Maria Reiche und die Bodenzeichnungen von Nasca".

@Wolfgang Prigge: Danke für Deinen Bsuch, Wolfgang! Nein, kein ultraleichtflieger. Es war eine einmotorige Cessna. Ganz in der Nähe gibt es einen kleinen Flughafen. Von dort aus starten die ca. 30 minütigen Rundflüge über die Pampa.

Ich muss zu meiner Schande gestehen, daß ich bis heute noch nichts von diesen Nasca Linien gehört habe. Es ist aber immer wieder beeindruckend zu sehen wozu frühere Kulturen fähig waren. Sehr schön eingefangen.

@Harald: Danke für Deinen Kommentar & besuch, Harald! Das ist sehr schade, zumal es lange Zeit ein grosses Mysterium war. Erich von Däniken hatte so auch seine Vermutungen und Hypothesen- leider nix dran. Erst in den letzen Jahren wurde etwas Klarheit durch ausgiebige Forschungen verschafft.
