:( I really what the black and white does for this shot. It makes it really bleak. I definitely know what you mean about the zoo.

@Craiger: Some of the animals really don´t look quite happy...

@Michael Rawluk: Sometimes I feel the same; but most of the zoo´s are improving the enclosures.
your title captures the exact feeling I got from the photo before I even saw the title.

@Rebecca: Thanks for your visit, Rebecca! He looks so sad and depressed.
Excellent expression you got. I agree the black and white accents the despair. I like going to the zoo but once I get there I start to feel bad about it and end up leaving early.

@Gary: Thank you, Gary!
so sad... :(

@Elisa: Yep, not more to say...
No...I wouldn't say it is sad, how do we know it?! Some of these animals are born in captivity, so they know nothing about the world outside their cages. And while they are there, for many of the species, there's still a hope that they may survive. Think what happens to so many of them in their natural habitat!!!! I'd propse a test project...take some of those people who go to hunt them on safaris or just go poaching and put them in zoos, treat them the same way. Might this bring a change???????I wonder!

@Japanalia: Hmmm, hard to say... Maybe we like to humanize the animals sometimes to much?
